Cinema scene from balcony, 2025
Acrylic on canvas
100 x 200 cm
70,000 THB.
This work is part of the exhibition Memory Complex. It depicts a landscape of Mae Rim, seen from the balcony of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the Thai independent film director. The image does not merely capture the scenery but layers it with open meanings, allowing viewers to imagine for themselves whether this view belongs to reality or drifts within a dreamlike memory.

Room of Requirement, 2025
Acrylic on raw linen stretched on teak wood
37 x 37 cm
25,000 THB.
This work is part of the exhibition Memory Complex, reflecting the layered structures of memory within this small urban area. It draws from the stories of migrant workers from Myanmar, who are employed by local shops in the neighborhood. To stay close to their workplaces, they often rent nearby rooms. Aunt Nuan, a local house owner, subdivides the second and third floors of her home into small rental units for these workers.
The act of partitioning, the compression of living spaces, and the movement of people are translated in this painting as traces of collective memory embedded in everyday life. The work does not merely depict the physical structure of the building and its usage, but also records the atmosphere of the workers’ temporary existence—those who sustain the local economy. Memory here becomes visible through colors, lines, and lingering marks upon the canvas.

Silence all around, 2025
Acrylic and Cyanotype on raw linen
200 x 130 cm
90,000 THB.
It was once a play house, now abandoned, carrying the remnants of the Hijas family’s memories. Initially, the intention was to paint about childhood recollections, yet what emerged was chaotic and fragmented—an echo of a childhood constantly controlled by parents.
This work is part of the exhibition Memory Complex. One vivid memory was the constant threat of the “ghost who hangs the baby’s diapers”, a warning that signaled bedtime. With time and distance, when looking at this work again in Thailand, the image unexpectedly resembled a spirit house—an emblem of belief and protection. In the end, the decision was to burn it, transforming the act into a gesture of cleansing and severing ties with the burdens of memory.

Hospital Bed, 2025
Iron Bed
205 x 99 x 98 cm
100,000 THB.
This work is part of the exhibition Memory Complex and marks the artist’s first found object piece. It is also the very first work imagined upon arriving at this place. The image reflects a bedroom on the third floor of a downtown building—a space where faces come and go in rotation, as if the room itself absorbs and consumes traces of humanity.
Sleep and dreaming—the subtle pleasures intrinsic to being human—are evoked here as fragile remnants. Within this small room, the bed holds multiple roles: a site of rest, of intimacy, of birth, and ultimately, of death.
